<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mail relay apparatus and a mail relay method which can send sound-attached e-mail to the other party without requiring a sender to take time. <P>SOLUTION: The mail relay apparatus, which is connected to a transmitting terminal apparatus and a receiving terminal apparatus, comprises a receiving unit which receives e-mail including a sentence and image information inserted in the sentence from the transmitting terminal apparatus; an extraction unit which extracts the image information inserted in the sentence from the e-mail; a generation unit which generates sound-attached e-mail by incorporating in it sound information associated beforehand with the image information or link information needed to acquire the sound information; and a transmitting unit which transmits the sound-attached e-mail to the receiving terminal apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
