[Also in Division B8] A carrying case for surgical requisites comprises two outer containers each having a hinged prism-shaped portion movable outward to open the container and each container being attached to the outer by male and female members such that the containers may be detached by relative movement thereof in a direction along their closest opposing faces and each container having members for firmly and resiliently holding articles therein. Opposite side walls 12, 13 of a central container 3 are formed with a male portion and a female portion, respectively, of dovetail connections. One side wall of each outer container 1, 2 is formed with either female or male portions of dovetail connections so that they may be attached one on each side to the central container. The outer containers open along a diagonal plane. Each container contains medical instruments &c. for a particular treatment and the box sections forming the unit are selected according to the treatment to be given. Cylindrical instruments &c. are secured in resilient part-cylindrical clips which are attached to the walls of the containers or on a rotatable drum 24 mounted in one container. Packages are fixed in position by flexible strips 27. The drum may house a cylindrical drawer 26. Rods 15, 18 and a handle 20 are slidable in a guide 16 along one side of the central container. To prevent relative sliding movement when the containers are interconnected, the rods 15, 18 are slid over the joints between the containers into guides 17, 19 on the outer containers and are held in position by a projection 22 on a knob 21 which also serves to rotate the drum and withdraw the drawer 26. Shelves 29 and partitions 28 are provided in the central container which has a sliding lid 10. A Clar type mirror 30 having an electric battery 32 is fitted in one container so that light from its bulb may pass through a window in the container wall. The outer containers may be attached to one another directly, the central container being omitted. |
