GOATSBEARD EXTRACT OR ITS FRACTION HAVING ANTIVIRAL, ANTIOXIDATIVE AND ANTIMICROBIAL EFFECTS

PURPOSE: A composition containing Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus Hara extract or a fraction thereof for antiviral, antioxidative, or antibacterial effect is provided to be used as a functional foods without side effect. CONSTITUTION: An antiviral composition contains Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus Hara extract or a fraction thereof. An antioxidative composition contains extract or fraction thereof. An antibacterial composition contains the extract or fraction thereof. The ethanol extract is prepared by: adding 2400-3000 weight parts of 70-90% ethanol to 160-240 weight parts of dried Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus Hara, decompressing and concentrating the extract at 30-50°C. The fraction is prepared by n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and n-butanol.
