METHOD OF PREPARING FURFURAL USING LNORGANIC ACID MODIFED SILICA BEAD

PURPOSE: A method for preparing furfural using silica beads is provided to cheaply enhance conversion rate of xylose with an eco-friendly property. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing furfural comprises: a step of preparing silica beads with a core and a shell(S1); a step of introducing sulfuric acid(-SO_3H) in the cell pore of the silica beads(S2); and a step of adding the silica beads to xylose and solvent(S3). The detailed method comprises: a step of reacting NH4OH, EtOH, and H_2O in a molar ratio of 1: 23.7-55.4 : 11.9-55.4(S1-1); a step of calculating TEOS(tetraethylorthosilicate) mole number and adding TEOS(S1-2); a step of adding TEOS and C16TMS(n-alkyltrimethoxysilane) in a molar ratio of 1: 0.1-0.5(S1-3); and a step of centrifuging the reactant of S1-3(S1-4).
