Provided is a pouch container having a holding potion and being superior in content discharge performance. A pouch container (10) is a standing pouch having a mouth plug (15), wherein the container comprises a sheet material (12) provided with a front face sheet (12a), a rear face sheet (12b), and bottom gusset sheet (12c), and wherein a holding potion (16) is formed in an edge sealed portion (13c). In the pouch container (10), the holding potion (16) is formed so that the longitudinal direction line (X) following the longitudinal direction of the holding portion is substantially perpendicular to the center line (Y) of the discharge port, and the longitudinal direction line (X) is substantially parallel to a oblique side (17).
