A cover for containing an emergency air bag is provided on the inner surface with a part of small thickness 1C for easy fracture at the start of operation of the emergency air bag and is formed of an olefin type and/or styrene type thermoplastic elastomer having a JIS A hardness of not less than 70 as determined in accordance withg JIS K-6301 and a modulus of elasticity in bending of not more than 5,000 kg/cm<2> as determined in accordance with JIS K-7203. The cover may be coated and prepared by injection moulding. The elastomer may be a compound material of either (a) a styrene-conjugated diene block copolymer and a hydrogenated derivative of said block copolymer, or (b) a copolymer rubber of ethylene with a C3-C6 alpha-olefin and a soft polymer, as a matrix material and incorporated in said matrix materials (a) and (b) component (s) selected from olefin- and/or styrene-type thermoplastic resins, softeners, inorganic fillers, waxes and additives. The diene may be butadiene and/or isoprene. The copolymer rubber (b) may comprise a minor amount of a copolymerised diene monomer e.g. dicyclopentadiene or ethylidene norbornene.
