PURPOSE: A coating composition for an insulating film of a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet, a method for forming an insulating film on a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet using the same, and a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet manufactured using the same are provided to obtain a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet with superior corrosion resistance, adhesion, and interface characteristics without using chrome when coating an insulating film on the grain-oriented electrical steel sheet. CONSTITUTION: A coating composition for an insulating film of a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet comprises 0.1-10 weight% of nano particles selected from the group consisting of Cu-Fe3O4 nano particles and Fe3O4 nano particles having a grain size of 100-500nm, 40-65 weight% of silica nano particles having a grain size of 1-100nm, and 30-55 weight% of phosphate. The phosphate is a mixture of a first magnesium phosphate and a first aluminium phosphate.
