<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper piece registration/identification device and a method for highly accurately identifying a paper piece. <P>SOLUTION: In this paper piece identification system consisting of a paper piece registration device and a paper piece identification device, the paper piece registration device includes: a first feature amount extraction processing unit for extracting a feature amount from a paper piece; and a print unit for printing information relating to the feature amount extracted by the first feature amount extraction processing unit on a paper piece, and the paper piece identification device includes: a second feature amount extraction processing unit for extracting a feature amount from a paper piece; a feature amount acquisition unit for acquiring information relating to the feature amount printed on the paper piece by the print unit from the paper piece; a feature amount decoding unit for extracting the feature amount from the information relating to the feature amount; and a similarity calculation unit for determining similarity between the feature amount extracted by the feature amount decoding unit and the feature amount extracted by the second feature amount extraction unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
