PURPOSE: A display device is provided to divide one pixel electrode into a pair of sub pixel electrodes and generate a difference between pixel voltages applied to each sub pixel electrode. CONSTITUTION: A first sub pixel(SP1) is charged with a data signal corresponding to input gradation in response to a gate signal. A second sub pixel(SP2) is charged with the data signal in response to the gate signal. A boost capacitor(Cboost) increases the signal charged in the first sub pixel to be a signal corresponding to the first gradation higher than the input gradation. The boost capacitor reduces the signal charged in the second sub pixel to be a signal corresponding to second gradation lower than the input gradation. A switching element changes the electric potential of a first electrode of the boost capacitor.
