<p>A multi-primary color liquid crystal display device (100) carries out a color display, using four primary colors: red, which is displayed by red sub-pixels (R); green, which is displayed by green sub-pixels (G); blue, which is displayed by blue sub-pixels (B); and yellow, which is displayed by yellow sub-pixels (Ye). A signal conversion circuit (20), which is employed by the multi-primary color liquid crystal display device (100), converts an inputted three primary color video signal into a multi-primary color video signal which supports the four primary colors. If the red tone level (r), the green tone level (g), and the blue tone level (b), which the three primary color video signal represents, satisfy at least a part of the relation r > g > b, the signal conversion circuit (20) carries out the signal conversion such that the yellow sub-pixel (Ye) display tone is higher than the green sub-pixel (G) display tone.</p> |
