<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate an actual distance between a camera and a subject from imaging data. <P>SOLUTION: A distance estimation part 200 inputs imaging data imaged by using an imaging optical system provided with an iris including an aperture that has no point symmetry and obtains an imaging parameter of the imaging optical system that has imaged the imaging data. A spectrum calculating part 701 calculates a spectrum of the imaging data. A spectrum model generation part 702 generates a prediction model that is a spectrum model corresponding to the imaging data by using a spectrum model and optical characteristic information that corresponds to the imaging parameter and a subject distance. An evaluation function generation part 707 generates an evaluation function by using the spectrum of the imaging data and the prediction model. The distance estimation part 200 estimates an actual distance between a camera and a subject included in an image represented by the imaging data by using the evaluation function and a statistical approach. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
