<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the fitting operation force of both connector housings, and to fit the connector housings smoothly. <P>SOLUTION: The waterproof connector comprises an apparatus side connector housing 52 having a hood 55, and a wire side connector housing 22 having a pair of cylindrical fitting part 24 and an interlock fitting part 25 which can be fitted in the hood 55. On the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical fitting part 24 and the interlock fitting part 25, a rubber ring 33 for sealing between the inner peripheral surface of the hood 55 and the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical fitting part 24 and the interlock fitting part 25 is fitted collectively. On the inner peripheral surface of the hood 55, a seal surface 55A is provided to adhere to the rubber ring 33 over the whole circumference thereof.
