The method involves introducing an additive containing soot-decomposing liquid and a carrier gas i.e. pressurized air, from an end side of an exhaust pipe (4) into a filter (1) i.e. diesel exhaust gas particulate filter, by a stream supplying unit (2) and an inlet pipe (3), respectively under pressure, where boiling point of the liquid is lesser than 180 degree Celsius. An end of the stream supplying unit is pressed or attached firmly on the end of the exhaust pipe by a bracket (5) such that the filter is kept under pressure of about 0.10-1 bar, where the filter is freed by a suction device.
