<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To robustly calculate the position and attitude of an object regardless of any deviation between a true value of the position and attitude of the object and an approximate value of the position and attitude of the object to be input as an initial value. <P>SOLUTION: A detection unit 120 is configured to detect geometric features on a three-dimensional shape model to be observed from a point of view in a standard position attitude as standard geometric features. A similarity calculation unit 140 is configured to search reference geometric features as geometric features corresponding to the standard geometric features on the three-dimensional shape model to be observed from the point of view in a reference position attitude, and to calculate similarity between the standard geometric features and the reference geometric features.
