<p>Methods and apparatus for use in mapping are desribed, for example, methods for measuring features, such as road widths, etc. at particular locations. In some examples, there is described measuring features of a location from a transformed image of that location, whereby the transformed image has been obtained from one or more images (e.g. from a panoramic image of the location) and has been transformed to provide a virtual field of view showing features to be measured at the location. The transformed image can be associated with a virtual view point having a principal direction of view which is orthogonal to a feature, such as a surface,to be measured. There is also described associated digital maps, databases, etc.</p> |
