<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping device having a draining structure for quickly draining water on a second mounting member therefrom and having a novel structure for inhibiting the occurrence of abnormal sounds due to the abutment of a body rubber elastic material on the second mounting member during vibration input. <P>SOLUTION: The vibration damping device includes the second mounting member 14 having a fitting recess 30 into which the body rubber elastic material 16 is fitted and a side communication path 62 formed between the inner peripheral face of the fitting recess 30 and the outer peripheral face of the body rubber elastic material 16, the bottom face of the fitting recess 30 being a valley-shaped combination of a plurality of sloping faces 42 sloping to a horizontal plane. The bottom face of the body rubber elastic material 16 is isolated from at least a valley-shaped part 44 of the bottom face of the fitting recess 30, and a drain hole 40 passing at least at its lowest part through the bottom face of the fitting recess 30 is formed in the valley-shaped part 44 of the bottom face of the fitting recess 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
