Preparing a product from at least two reactive starting components comprising a first and second type starting components, comprises: mixing the reactive starting components; introducing the mixture into an open mold of a mold tool along a predetermined path; and closing the mold tool to allow at least substantially hardening the mixture to the product, so that it can be removed after opening the mold tool, where the two starting components have different foaming properties and the mixing ratio of the two starting components is changed during the introduction step. Preparing a product from at least two reactive starting components comprising a first and second type starting components, preferably an isocyanate component and at least one polyol component, comprises: mixing the reactive starting components; introducing the mixture into an open mold of a mold tool along a predetermined path; and closing the mold tool to allow to at least substantially cure the mixture to the product, so that it can be removed after opening the mold tool, where the two starting components have different foaming properties and the mixing ratio of the two starting components is changed during the introduction step. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for carrying out the above process, comprising: a container (22) for the first type starting component; at least two containers (24, 26) for second type starting component; a controllable or adjustable metering device (28), which is connected to the two containers for the second type starting components; a mixing head (20), which is associated with the container for the first type starting component, and the metering device; and an electrical control device (30) for gas forces on the metering device, which is suitable for controlling an introducing device.
