PURPOSE: A yellow fluoro sulfide fluorescent substance for light emitting diode based on cerium-doped fluorosulfide and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to a candidate for manufacturing white LED, especially for warm white-light. CONSTITUTION: A yellow fluoro sulfide fluorescent substance has the following chemical formula: (A (1-x-y)Ce xB y) 2Ca (1-z) Sr zF 4S 2 and a tetragonal crystal phase. Here, A and B are other rare earth metal other than Ce, and 0< xΔ1, 0ΔyΔ1, 0ΔzΔ1. A manufacturing method of the fluoro sulfide comprises the following steps: measuring stoichiometric amount of one or more sulfide and one or more fluoride of Ce, one or more rare earth metal except Ce, and Ca and/or Sr; uniformly mixing sulfide and fluoride by grinding; and plasticizing the mixture under a vacuum condition at 900-1100 deg. Celsius until pure crystal phase is obtained.
