PURPOSE: A method for adaptively controlling an air purifier is provided to correspond to the rapid increase of dust by implementing a pre-treating process according to the state of air. CONSTITUTION: A method for adaptively controlling an air purifier includes the following: whether an adaptive operation is implemented is confirmed(100); if a reserved function is being implemented after the confirmation, a first adaptive operation is implemented based on the amount of dust in the air(200); and if the adaptive operation is implemented and an automatic operating function is being implemented, a second adaptive operation is implemented based on the amount of dust in the air(300).
