The method involves connecting a rotor which is supported with machine carrier (10) of vertical tower and propelled by the wind, with an electric generator by a powertrain (20). The powertrain for assisting a crane (30) is raised over the machine carrier and lowered into an installation position at the machine carrier. The degree of freedom of horizontal movement (F) of the powertrain is limited by a guide track (50) in the direction of installation position during lowering movement of powertrain. An independent claim is included for device for establishing wind turbine.
