<p>PURPOSE: A high-carbon steel wire rod with a high descaling property and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase mechanical releasability by reducing a melting temperature to 940°C. CONSTITUTION: A high-carbon steel wire rod with a high descaling property is composed of 0.69-0.95wt.% of carbon, 0.15-0.25wt.% of silicon, 0.25-0.55wt.% of manganese, 0.0050-0.012wt.% of sulfur, below 0.015wt.% phosphorus, residual iron, and inevitable impurities. A scale layer is composed of iron oxide and a FeS layer formed under the iron oxide and is formed on the surface of the wire rod. The thickness of the FeS is 0.3-2 micron meters.</p> |
