<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of adaptively performing processing with respect to the image of graphic data and also improving a commodity value. <P>SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a basic format for a 3D signal is defined, which includes: a first region for arranging main video data; a second region for arranging graphic data; a third region for arranging depth information of pixels in the main video data; and a fourth region for arranging depth information of pixels in the graphic data. When the depth information of the pixel in the main video data is generated, a 3D processing module performs selection as to which of a first pattern where the graphic data is inserted to the main video data or a second pattern where the graphic data is not inserted to the main video data is used.
