<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal element having high transmitted wave surface accuracy as an optical component. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel A is composed of substrates 2a and 2b which hold a liquid crystal material 1. A polarizing plate 4a is attached to a surface of the substrate 2a of the liquid crystal panel A through a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 3a, and furthermore, a glass plate 6a is attached to the polarizing plate 4a by using an adhesive layer 5a. The adhesive layer 5a is made of an ultraviolet curable resin, for example, and is irradiated with ultraviolet light to be cured while uniformly applying pressure to the glass plate 6a. Thus, the substrate 2a of the liquid crystal panel A and the glass plate 6a are formed to be parallel. In addition, a polarizing plate having the adhesive layer 3a on one surface thereof is used as the polarizing plate 4a. According to such a structure, the substrate of the liquid crystal panel A and the glass plate 6a can be formed and maintained to be parallel and an air layer can be reduced. Therefore, variations in in-plane retardation can be suppressed and a reduction in transmitted wave surface accuracy can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
