APPARATUS FOR INSPECTING WELDING BEAD AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A device and a method for inspecting a welding bead are provided to automatically perform a quality inspection of a welding bead, thereby enhancing reliability with respect to the quality inspection of the welding bead. CONSTITUTION: A device(100) for inspecting a welding bead comprises a welding line sensing part(110) and a welding bead inspection part(120). The welding line sensing part photographs a welding line area including the welding bead, thereby outputting a corresponded profile of a welding bead. The welding bead inspection part sets a straight line at a reference angle on a welding bead surface of the profile of the welding bead output from the welding line sensing part. The welding bead inspection part calculates a maximum distance value between the set straight line and the welding bead surface. The welding bead inspection part decides a quality of the welding bead according to whether or not the calculated maximum distance value is included within a criterion allowable range.
