<p>The invention comprises 1-cyano-colchiceinamides of the formula <FORM:1058418/C2/1> where R1 is hydrogen or C1- 8 alkyl and R2 is C1- 8 alkyl or an aralkyl radical, or R1 and R2 together with the nitrogen form a heterocyclic ring, which may be interrupted by oxygen; their production by reacting 1-cyano-colchicine with HNR1R2; and pharmaceutical compositions containing them. The compounds exert antimitotic activity, and may be used in the form of tablets, coated tablets or injectable solutions. The compound in which NR1R2 is NHCH3 is stated to be of use in the treatment of medullary tumours, cutaneous neoplasias, digestive tumours and carcinomas in general.ALSO:Mitosis is modified and polyploids are created by spraying cultivated ground with an aqueous solution or suspension of a compound <FORM:1058418/C1/1> where R1 is hydrogen or C1- 8 alkyl and R2 is C1- 8 alkyl or an aralkyl radical, or R1 and R2 together with the nitrogen form a heterocyclic ring, which may be interrupted by oxygen.ALSO:Seeds are treated with a compound, which is a colchicine derivative of formula <FORM:1058418/A1-A3/1> where R1 is hydrogen or C1-8 alkyl and R2 is C1-8 alkyl or an aralkyl radical, or R1 and R2 together with the nitrogen form a heterocyclic ring, which may be interrupted by oxygen. The compound may be undiluted or diluted in a solvent, or on a carrier. The effect is to modify mitosis and create polyploids.</p> |
