PURPOSE: An electronic device and a controlling method thereof are provided to supply map information by using an actual map in case a user is located in an area where a GPS does not support. CONSTITUTION: A controlling unit(180) displays a first map image through a display module(151). The controlling unit extracts a second map image from an external image which is inputted through a camera(121). The controlling unit combines the extracted second map image with the first map image. The controlling unit displays the combined image through the display module.
