A mask assembly for a positive airway pressure ventilator includes a frame, a cushion on the frame, and a forehead support assembly connected to the frame via a neck 700 which includes a plurality of walls 702, 704, each wall having a first end and a second end being joined respectively to the forehead support assembly and the frame. The plural walls include two side walls 704 that have an open space between them and that are each between 1mm and 5mm thick.
