PURPOSE: An apparatus for inspecting bio materials and a method for controlling the apparatus are provided to automatically close an opening and closing part after a pre-set period of time has elapsed from the opening of the opening and closing part. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(10) for inspecting bio materials includes an opening and closing part(17), a displaying part(11), and a controlling part. The opening and closing part opens and closes a door for the apparatus. The opening and closing part is a tray type loader. The displaying part displays the state of the apparatus. The displaying part operates based on a touch screen mode. The controlling part displays the lapse of a pre-set period of time and closes the opening and closing part after the pre-set period of time.
