PURPOSE: An optical filter capable of controlling transmittance and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to control the transmittance of an optical filter by coating a mixture of specific color pigment and adhesive on the upper side of an optical film. CONSTITUTION: An optical filter has a structure in which a mixed solution of pigment and adhesive are coated on a base substrate. A method for manufacturing the optical filter comprises a step of preprocessing the base substrate, a step of mixing pigment and an adhesive, a step of coating the mixed solution on the base substrate, and a step of drying the coated base substrate. The base substrate is formed of a material with high transmittance and superior elongation and wetproof property.
