摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery realizing a lithium ion secondary battery having excellent cycle characteristics, and inhibited from expanding with charges. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery comprises the steps of compositing first particles containing a carbonaceous material A, second particles containing silicon atoms, and a carbonaceous precursor of a carbonaceous material B different from the carbonaceous material A; obtaining lumps by firing the composite obtained by the composition; and obtaining composite particles having a volume-average particle size 1.0 to 1.3 times larger than the volume-average particle size of the first particles and made by compositing the first particles and the second particles using the carbonaceous material B by exerting a shearing force on the lumps.
