<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which suppresses variability of a tension state of an image carrying belt and slur at a transfer part, thereby keeping an excellent image forming state. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a photoreceptor drum 2; an image forming part for forming an image on the photoreceptor drum 2; an intermediate transfer belt 11; a primary transfer part T1 for transferring a toner image of the photoreceptor drum 2 to the intermediate transfer belt 11; a belt driving roller 12 which drives the intermediate transfer belt 11 and also works as a tension roller of the intermediate transfer belt 11; a secondary transfer roller 20 contacting the intermediate transfer belt 11 and having a conveyance force; a tension detection mechanism 50 for detecting a tension state of the intermediate transfer belt 11; and a control part. The control part, whose control target value being a detection result of the tension detection mechanism 50 when the intermediate transfer belt 11 has approximately equal tension over the whole periphery thereof, determines a driving speed of the secondary transfer roller 20 based on the control target value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
