[Problem] To provide a composition for forming a planarizing film for hard disks. [Solution] A film-forming composition containing a hydrophobic coating material having a photopolymerizable group and an aromatic group, said coating material comprising a polymer or a combination of a polymer and a compound selected from the group consisting of (A1) a polymer which contains an aromatic group, has a molecular weight of 300-5000, and is a liquid at normal temperature and under atmospheric pressure, (A2) a polymer which contains at least two photopolymerizable groups, has a molecular weight of 300-5000, and is a liquid at normal temperature and under atmospheric pressure, (A3) a polymer which contains an aromatic group and at least two photopolymerizable groups, has a molecular weight of 300-5000, and is a liquid at normal temperature and under atmospheric pressure, (a1) a compound which contains an aromatic group, has a molecular weight of 100-1000, and is a liquid at normal temperature and under atmospheric pressure, (a2) a compound which contains at least two photopolymerizable groups, has a molecular weight of 100-1000, and is a liquid at normal temperature and under atmospheric pressure, and (a3) a compound which contains an aromatic group and at least two photopolymerizable groups, has a molecular weight of 100-1000, and is a liquid at normal temperature and under atmospheric pressure.
