A package comprises a bag formed from a plastics tube, heat-sealed along lines 24, 26, and optionally 28, to form a valve; the contents, e.g. beer, are inserted through the bottom which is then closed by a heat seal, or the bottom is closed first and the contents inserted either before or after the seals 24, 26 and 28 are formed. The gas given off by the beer can escape through the valve. The contents of the package, or part of the contents, may be expelled through the valve by applying external pressure to the pack. In modifications the seal 24 extends right across the top of the tube and the corner portion 22 is either perforated or is cut off by the user. |
