METHOD FOR DETECTING TUNNEL FAULTS AND TRAFFIC ENGINEERING NODE

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for detecting tunnel faults and a traffic engineering (TE) node. The method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a traffic engineering TE node receiving a link fault report message; the node determining, according to the link fault report message, a faulty link having a fault; the node detecting whether one or more tunnels each using the node as the first node and passing through the faulty link exist; and if one or more tunnels each using the node as the first node and passing through the faulty link exist, determining the tunnel(s) to be a faulty tunnel(s). According to the embodiment of the present invention, the TE node can detect all faulty tunnels at one time rather than determining the faulty tunnels one by one after receiving a fault notification of every tunnel. Therefore, compared with the prior art, in a network where a TE node is configured with a large number of tunnels, faulty tunnels can be detected in time.
