PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for supplying a time shift buffering function are provided to prevent degradation of other functions due to a time shift buffering function. CONSTITUTION: A receiver(410) receives broadcasting stream data. A controller(450) allocates a time shift buffer of consecutive file data. The controller stores the broadcasting stream data in the time shift buffer. The controller generates entry information. The entry information includes necessary information in order to access the time shift buffer.
