<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous solution of a heat resistant/oxidation resistant coating material which can prevent high temperature oxidation of metals such as fire resistant castings, stainless steel, iron, heat resistant metals, used in a high temperature atmosphere, and to provide a coating treatment method. <P>SOLUTION: The aqueous solution of a heat resistant/oxidation resistant coating material comprises an alkali metal silicate compound, a boric acid compound, a zinc compound, mica, and the zirconium oxide, aluminum oxide, silicic acid anhydride, titanium oxide each of which is a powdery inorganic aggregate, or the like.
