The present invention relates to a combination body of an acetylated biocompatible polysaccharide and a phthalocyanine compound for photodynamic diagnosis or therapy, and relates to a production method therefor. More specifically, the invention relates to a combination body for photodynamic diagnosis or therapy in which a biocompatible polysaccharide is subjected to acetylation and a phthalocyanine compound is bound to the acetylated polysaccharide, and relates to a production method therefor. The combination body for photodynamic diagnosis or therapy according to the present invention can be used to advantage in diagnosis or therapy of diseases involving the use of photodynamics. This is because the acetylation of the polysaccharide increases the solubility in solvents and allows various forms of chemical modification, such that it is possible to specifically mark only cancer cells and the specificity for and ability to accumulate in cancer cells is outstanding, and, additionally, there is an outstanding effect whereby cancer cells are killed during near-infrared irradiation while on the other hand no cytotoxicity is exhibited with respect to cells other than cancer cells even during near-infrared irradiation and hence the in-vivo stability is outstanding.
