[Also in Group XVII] A bottle &c. 1 for topping up accumulators &c. has an outlet 5, and an air inlet 6 extending from a point 8 short of the end 9 of the outlet 5 inwardly, e.g. by an extension-piece 14, beyond the inner end of the outlets: a diaphragm 11 or the entire bottle &c. 1 being of flexible, resilient material. In use, the end 9 of the spout is inserted in the vent of an accumulator, and the diaphragm &c. pressed to start the flow which ceases when the acid level rises above the air-opening 8, so that acid starts to enter the air-inlet passage. |
