An autoinjector has a body portion (10, 12) containing a syringe (13) or cartridge with a needle at its forward end, the autoinjector having a drive arrangement for advancing in use the syringe or cartridge to cause the needle to penetrate the flesh at an injection site, wherein a forward end region of the autoinjector includes a forward facing skin contact surface (26) for being placed against the skin around the intended injection site, the surface having an aperture (28) through which said needle may extend to penetrate the flesh, and being of forwardly dished profile. |
