PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device and a driving method thereof are provided to partly or simultaneously display a 2D image and a 3D image on one screen by freely converting the 2D image and the 3D image. CONSTITUTION: A display panel(10) indicates a 2D image and a 3D image on one screen. A switchable barrier cell(30) is loaded on the display panel. The switchable barrier cell includes a liquid crystal layer between first electrodes and second electrodes. The first electrodes and the second electrodes are crossed with each other. A switchable barrier cell driving unit(140) applies an electric voltage to electrodes which face with each other. The switchable barrier cell driving unit applies voltages delayed as 1/3 T-cycle to the electrodes which face with each other. |
