A joint for drawn or rolled sections abutting end to end e.g. a joint between sections of a screen for fluorescent lamps, is characterized by at least one groove 2 extending longitudinally of the sections 1a, 1b and formed by two parallel ridges 3, and by a rod 4 placed in the groove and extending over the two abutting component sections, said rod having at least two nicks 5 engaged by corrugations 7 which are forced into the ridges 3 of both component sections. The nicks in the rod have one slope 6 which faces towards the centre of the rod approximately normal to the rod axis. A corrugation formed in the groove 2 bears against this slope and prevents the sections from pulling apart. |
