PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure appropriate lumbar support function and fitting property even if an inner shell of a backrest is formed of a synthetic resin with low flexibility in a chair having a lumbar support part of the backrest which advances by seating. SOLUTION: The inner shell is an injection molded product of a synthetic resin such as PP (polypropylene), and the lumbar support part 22 has a semi-rigid structure without slit or the like. Both sides above/below the lumbar support part 22 are formed into deformation allowance parts 55 and 53 having multiple laterally long slits 59 and 52. Both left/right ends of the lumbar support part 22 are supported by an upper link. A lower shape-retaining part 54 is continued to the lower deformation allowance part 52 from below and left/right portions close to the intermediate part of the lower shape retaining part 54 are supported by a lower link from behind.
