PURPOSE: A composition containing Phellodendri Cortex extract is provided to suppress inflammatory enzyme and to prevent or treat pancreatitis. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating pancreatitis contains Phellodendri Cortex extract as an active ingredient. The Phellodendri Cortex extract is a crude extract or purified extract. The purified extract is a purified extract(PA-P2) obtained prepared by filling the crude extract with HP20 filler, leaking ethanol with low polarity in order, decompressing, and freeze-drying; or a butanol solubilized fraction purified material(PA-CB). A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating pancreatitis contains the Phellodendri Cortex extract and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, excipient, or diluents.
