<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that suppresses drive noise generated at a contact area between an image carrier surface and a cleaning blade due to the drive of an image carrier during the image forming operation. <P>SOLUTION: After completion of a series of image forming processing and temporary stop of a photoreceptor drum, a drive control unit included in an image forming apparatus causes the photoreceptor drum to rotate in the reverse direction relative to the direction during the image formation and then in the forward direction before stopping the photoreceptor drum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
