Provided is a production apparatus (100a) that can produce circulating content that is able to further enrich color-tone expression of video upon playing thereof. The production apparatus (100a), which produces circulation content including circulation video data, is composed of: a source-data acquisition unit (101a) for acquiring source video data; a circulation-data acquisition unit (102a) for acquiring the circulation video data, which was created by implementing a conversion that reduces the gradation of the source video data, to the source video data; a difference-data generating unit (103a) for generating difference data between the source video data and the circulation video data; and an output unit (104a) for outputting the difference data. A playback apparatus (400a) is for playing the circulation content.
