<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that sets the optimal fixing temperature to every recording material during continuous printing, without an enormous amount of information and the need for selecting a specific mode. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus including a fixing device 20 for fixing an unfixed image on a recording medium P to the recording medium includes: target fixing temperature changing means for changing target fixing temperature during fixing processing; and gray scale processing means for subjecting image information to gray scale processing.
