The present invention relates to a method for sealing a civil engineering or structural engineering structure. The method includes in particular the use of non-reactive dispersion adhesive compositions. This method in particular has the advantages that good and long-lasting adhesion can be achieved quickly, and that in particular the non-reactive dispersion adhesives that are used have a low tendency to absorb plasticizers present in the PVC sealing film such that the present method is excellently suitable for assuring long-lasting bonding between PVC films and a wide variety of substrates.
