<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intervertebral disc prosthesis provided with a core which is used to limit the movement of the prosthesis to at least one direction while allowing limited movements of the prosthesis between various parts. <P>SOLUTION: The intervertebral disc prosthesis comprises at least three parts including an upper plate 1, a lower plate 2 and a mobile core 3 to at least the lower plate 2. Co-operation means 23, 33 limit or eliminate translatory and rotary movements of the core 3 relative to the lower plate 2 around an axis substantially parallel to the lower plate 2 and around an axis substantially vertical to the lower plate 2. At least one part of the surface of at least one plate is curved and complementary to the curved surface of the core 3 with which the plate is in contact.
