<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a laser machining apparatus that can rapidly change a polarization direction of a linearly-polarized laser beam. <P>SOLUTION: The laser machining apparatus includes: a laser source 1 for generating the linearly-polarized laser beam; a polarization maintaining fiber 2 for conducting the laser beam generated by the laser source 1; a holding device 3 for holding an outgoing end of the polarization maintaining fiber 2; a rotary device 4 for rotating the holding device 3; and a light condensing device 5 for condensing a laser beam emitted from the outgoing end of the polarization maintaining fiber 2. The holding device 3 is disposed so that the laser beam emitted from the outgoing end of the polarization maintaining fiber 2 is directed to a workpiece 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
