<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system, a gateway device, an information providing method and an information providing program capable of notifying existence of information which is to be transferred to a user, regardless of whether or not the power of an information processing device such as a personal computer is on. <P>SOLUTION: A notification reception means 11b of a gateway device 11 receives a notification to which an address on the Web showing a location of prescribed notification contents is added, and a notification means 11d notifies it to surroundings.
